Awesome campground. The pictures don’t do it justice. We found a grassy camp spot before the bridge which was lovely and shaded and cool, at 6.30 every morning we were greeted by cows grazing in our area which was awesome. The camping areas after the bridge can be quite rocky and hot - but they do have the best access to to rapids and river and are the most popular. There is 0 facilities so be prepared with water and toilet supplies.
We had a great time with our camper trailer and 2 dogs. Had our own space so the dogs could be off leash and next to the river so we could cool off. Plenty of places to get in the water & swim. Access was easy and bridge is fine to cross. No bins, no ammenities, no water but just pack your own things, close to Grafton & there is a little store nearby at Mann River Caravan Park. Will definitely be back again!
Beautiful spot. Easy to get to. Very quiet midweek. Lovely flowing river, great for swimming and relaxing. Views from bridge at sunrise with mist in the mountains are gorgeous. Cattle wander everywhere mowing and fertilising the grass. No toilets or facilities so pack a good shovel for digging in rocky ground. Please take out your rubbish and keep this place beautiful - we picked up a lot of bottle lids at our site. It is a privilege to free camp at a place like this.
Easily accessed in 2wd over good good gravel road and wooden bridge. Some campsites before the bridge. Absolutely beautiful spot although there are limited spaces which you can see the water (the best bit!) but otherwise really lovely.
