The best spot a lot this coast the kids and myself have camped, so much wildlife, the kids had a great time! Will be coming back!

Favourite campsite of my trip so far. Amazing price for everything we got, 33 dollars for an unpowered undesignated site for a couple. Arrived and were given an extremely helpful run down of the place from (I believe his name was) Wayne. Didn't realise when we booked how huge and lovely and close to the camp the river is. There is a row of riverside camps you can pay extra to guarantee, but there is a spot at the end of the row where they stop and you can pull up in the undesignated camping and get the same view. Even if you are not at this spot you will likely see the water if you camp near it. The lake/river? is an absolute beaut. Huge but very shallow and flat so you can wade out literally hundreds of metres. Beautiful. The bar & bistro is a nice relief from my drinking goon and eating soup at other campsites. All their beermaking gear is behind the bar. 12 dollars for a tasting paddle, all hit the spot. 9.50 for a pint, same price for all so you can stick to their higher percentage beer if you want to get your moneys worth. Wayne gave us friendly table service while it was quieter. Pizza and gnocchi to die for. Wait and bar staff very pleasant. Showers and toilets very clean and smelled nice. Overall, perfect place for our anniversary. Get around it.
Stayed here for 3 days over the long weekend, and loved it! We will be back for sure, the kids had so much fun. On the busier weekends I do think they need to provide more rubbish bins & toilets ( both portable toilets near us were out of order within 24hours ) so everyone had to use the main ones. But overall a great experience & would recommend it to friends & family.
Loved it! Great spot, clean and a very nice restaurant/bar.
I grew up going here with family every Christmas and New Year for 22 straight years, my sister met here husband there and I met my wife there too. We loved it for its open areas, quirky owner and peaceful facade. The facilities were a bit outdated, even when I was a kid but the place had character and charm. The new owners have turned the place into what is on the surface a ‘pretty’ and ‘shiny’ camping/glamping experience with designated areas (in all the good spots) and a new bar (hilariously named coothara-bar after the lake it’s situated on). Call it nostalgia, but I feel that this place has lost its charm. I’ll still go back every once in a while I think but not during any major holidays for fear of being sandwiched in the now busy and loud camping ground.
