Dirt is very hard when it has been dry, campsite is spaced out nicely and has a lot of nice spots. Waterfalls and walks nearby are stunning and easily done in one day. There is no reception down there though so be sure to prepare!
Really beautiful campground. I’ve visited a couple of times now, Forrest is about 20 mins away and is a great little town for grabbing supplies (they have a brewery!) and having a meal. From the visitors car park there’s a few lake walks you can do from 1hr to a whole day (if you want to just hang out on the lake). Toilets are pretty far from the camping area, halfway up the hill to the visitors area. Also there’s a loading zone for unpacking your gear at the campground but you’ll need to park in a different car park up the hill too. All campsites are marked and the best campsite for accessibility is campsite 5 at the top of the hill which has the closest access to the cars and the toilets whilst still having its own bbq and picnic table. Would definitely go again.
I absolutely love this campground! Dogs are permitted on-leash and it’s a picturesque area to set up camp in. I’ve been twice, neither time was particularly busy but it was during the cooler ‘off-peak’ months. I’ve ridden the MTB trails into Forrest and also walked the Lake Elizabeth loop. Not all camp spots have a fireplace, and some are quite close together, so do your research to find a spot that suits either group bookings or something a bit more private. You can also see which spots have been booked if you’d rather set up camp away from other visitors. I particularly like that vehicles are separate to the camping area (there’s a designated parking area at the top), it keeps everything simple and you really feel like you’re ‘getting back to nature’!
Pretty Forrest Saw a koala! So many pretty robins and variety and birds that visit the site which is really sweet The parking and drop off system works really great! The water is a bit far away for my taste also officially not allowed swimming Toilets nice and clean Camp sites a bit to close together and small area so weekend is busy and cramped and if you are unfortunate enough to have a bad visitor then the whole area is effected no escape.
Beautiful campsite. Really loved out time there. Drop toilets were clean. No cell reception up there. The map I thought was a little misleading but still good. We booked #3 which was close to the toilets and carpark/loading area, and we had a fire pit nearby.
Can you swim in the lake?
It’s a 30 minute walk for a swim by Murphy L.
Yep we’ve swum in the lake. Some logs and bits around but pretty safe. Will be a 30 min walk like Murphy said 👍 by Marton B.
The time you get back you want another swim lol by Murphy L.
Hi, I’m trying to book on the website but can’t seem to find any availability for my dates. Is there a number I can call?
I’m sure if you leave early you’ll find a campsite but after 12 it gets full by Murphy L.
If you have to book or else upset someone who already paid. by Julian W.
