Quite a large place with multiple sections to the campground. It is a very peaceful place with the river running right next to the grounds. There are nice fireplaces and picnic tables around as well.
Absolutely love this place! Plenty of room and camping sites are so close to the river. Ice and firewood able to be delivered straight to campsite. Fires allowed. Close to the town.
Toilets were well kept and the area was nice in theory besides there being a lot of pot holes and uneven terrain for driving. The water wasn’t swim worthy while we were there and we got caught in a dust storm so had to pack up and leave on the second day. Other than that there was numbers you could call to have Ice and firewood delivered which would have been handy. May have just been bad weather that spoilt our trip.
Very large camp area. 3 seperate sections. Drop toilets, picnic tables, fire pits and a boat ramp in one section. Loads of flat ground but some large bog ruts. Great spot by the river! Next to the Puckapunyal army base.

Is it a busy spot? Thinking of going Aus day weekend.
It was pretty busy 3 weeks ago when we went. I’d only go again if I know the weather was good with no wind as it was very dusty. by Yazna Lee Skegro

Is this hard to access when wet?
It’s not hard to access but can be pretty wet and muddy through winter by Greg Formosa (Swannie)
