What a fantastic spot to pull up for a night or a month! Nestled on 2 sides by extremely high pines, 2 sides beautiful open pasture, Standown has very clean toilets, showers, camp kitchen, & laundry room with well-maintained grounds. The lovely pond is surrounded with a top notch tribute to all Veterans. The park is only 20 minutes from Gympie to the SW & Tin Can Bay to the NE. At 4pm daily folks gather at the camp center for a drink & a chat & a fire in the colder months. Great camaraderie & a wonderful stay. The owners, Rod & Pam really provide a superb stay! Thanks!! Mel n Chris

In between the pine plantations of the Cooloola Coast area this lovely park is very welcoming to all. Each evening there is a happy hour (or 2) to get to know your fellow campers. Everything is clean and tidy. Good size sites both powered and unpowered on grass or a cracker dust slab. Rod and Pam are wonderful hosts, their park was originally set up as a Veterans Retreat for ‘their mates’ and later opened to the public to enjoy. There is a beautiful Veterans Memorial to wander around and lots of memorabilia in the well stocked camp kitchen. Very peaceful and relaxing.
