First time camping with family and met a few mates. All other camoers were great and we all enjoyed our self. While there we went down the rapids and had a swim. Also there is a water park for the kids and just to hang out and cool down. The staff were absolutely awesome and very helpful we have booked again for the end of January and are looking forward to our next family getaway. Also they allow a fire with in there fire pit that they will happily give you when you ask for it and they also can sell you fire kindling and reduce fire wood for your fire.

Question:

Hi, are there many places to eat & drink close by to have dinner etc ?

Answer:

Yep! There's Thai food, Indian, Wine bars etc in the town. Not too far by yourself, but you'd want to drive if you have kids. There are some local wineries that are worth checking out for lunch too. by Joel J.

Answer:

Actually, we are here at the moment and you can easily walk into town with kids. If you walk directly to town on the road it takes 10 minutes, otherwise you can walk along the snaking Yarra for a scenic walk. There are suspension bridges and bridges scattered along the river so you can walk on either side. It's beautiful. by Joel J.

Are you able to have campfire on your site?

Answer:

Yes! But you have to hire the fire pit stuff from the campsite. We did it on a site with no tent, but it was because we went with other families. by Joel J.

They say life is better around the campfire. And we could not agree more.  Over the years due to increase fire risk it's become a challenge to find great campsites that allow you to have a fire by your tent.  Please be a responsible Aircamper and brush up on your fire safety knowledge. Bushwalking NSW has a great article that'll give you the rundown on how to light a fire responsibly. Below we've collected some hidden gems near Elwood Beach, VIC that still allow you to sit back, toast your feet and incinerate some marshmallows while telling stories about camping when you were a kid.
