Took our two young children 6 months and 2 years by the river . It was very quiet , other campers where about but spread out . Everyone was very friendly and was just enjoying relaxing by the river. Beautiful views and loved listening to the birds in the morning.

Terrible terrible place to camp.. locals like to come down and shoot fire works, have loud parties on there properties right next door.. toilets are a 1.8km walk so people use the bushes as toilets.. no joke toilet paper everywhere... we have given this place 3 tries and third strike was it for us. every spot we camped at here had toilet paper and human poo around camp site.... pot heads use this place... alot of unfriendly people everytime... great view . Couldn't go for walks because we couldn't trust our camp site not being disturbed or ransacked from locals or other campers... always completely packed not a child friendly environment!!!!!!!

What a fantastic spot . July school holidays only ones here. If you like river views this is the place for you . Plenty of fabulous spots to choose from beside the river. Mainly dirt and some spots with grass , most reasonably level .Set way back of the road , really quiet and private. Bring firewood or buy from from walkers flat $15. No phone or internet unless you have Telstra . Need to be completely self contained , bins provided . Suit any type of camper. Cute little book exchange for free at the Walkers flat progress ( number 649, cliff view road) association .A beautiful part of the world to spend a night or more . Would definitely go back.

Great spot on the river, with plenty of space. We were a group of 5 vehicles and had a large semi-private area, which was also semi-protected from the wind. Big trees for shade, easy access to the water, dogs loved it, plenty of bird life, and good fire pits (tho ours needed a good cleaning). Bins provided, BYO everything and leave no trace.

They say life is better around the campfire. And we could not agree more.  Over the years due to increase fire risk it's become a challenge to find great campsites that allow you to have a fire by your tent.  Please be a responsible Aircamper and brush up on your fire safety knowledge. Bushwalking NSW has a great article that'll give you the rundown on how to light a fire responsibly. Below we've collected some hidden gems near Mannum, SA that still allow you to sit back, toast your feet and incinerate some marshmallows while telling stories about camping when you were a kid.
